‘The Hateful Eight’ Official Cast Photo’s
First Glimpse of Tarantino’s ‘The HateFul Eight’
Quentin Tarantino‘s hotly anticipated western The Hateful Eight, offers up its first batch official images. The film is said to be a small and intimate western taking place, for the most part, in one location. During an interview with EW, Tarantino went on to say, “For me it has more of a Western-Iceman Cometh kind of vibe about it.” Comparing it to his first film he says, it follows “a bunch of guys in a room who can’t trust each other. That wasn’t a marching order when I sat down to write the script, but pretty quickly I realized this is kind of a nice coming-full-circle.”
He went on to say, “I want there to be a connection to the young artist’s spirit that was there in Reservoir Dogs. I don’t want to be one of those old-man directors; I want there to be some form of aesthetic connection, a vitality, from my first film to whatever is my last film.”
Below are the first official photo’s from the film, showcasing…
♦ Kurt Russell as John Ruth, a “mean sonuvabitch” bounty hunter on his way to Red Rock with a murderous woman in tow.
♦ Samuel L. Jackson as Major Marquis Warren, a former Union officer who lives in the Wyoming mountains.
♦ Jennifer Jason Leigh as Daisy Domergue, an infamous outlaw taken prisoner by Ruth.
♦ Michael Madsen as Joe Gage, a cowboy.
♦ Tim Roth as Oswaldo Mobray, a Brit and new hangman of Red Rock.
♦ Walton Goggins as Chris Mannix, a Southerner who claims to be the sheriff.
♦ Bruce Dern as General Sanford Smithers, a former Confederate general.
♦ Demian Bichir as Bob, a Mexican man who’se taken over innkeeper duties at Minnie’s while the owner is away.
It was revealed several months back that Magic Mike himself, Mr Channing Tatum also has a role to play in the film. However, we now know he is not one of the hateful eight or the main cast, and therefore will quite possibly only be involved in a cameo role, much like his 21 Jump Street co-star Jonah Hill in Django Unchained.
The Hateful Eight was shot on 65mm and will be released 13 November 2015
