Director David O Russell (Silver Linings Playbook- Review) returns to our screens on 3rd January 2014 with a truly sublime cast that includes Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams, Christian Bale, Jennifer Lawrence and Robert DeNiro amongst others, for his latest crime drama American Hustle.

The fictional film tells the story of shrewd con man by the name of Irving Rosenfeld (Christian Bale), who along with the equally cunning Sydney Prosser (Amy Adams) is forced to work for a manic FBI agent, Richie DiMaso (Bradley Cooper). DiMaso pushes them into the alluring world of Jersey powerbrokers and the local mafia that’s as dangerous as it is enchanting.  Carmine Polito (Jeremy Renner) is a passionate, volatile, New Jersey political operator caught between the con-artists and FBI. Irving’s unpredictable wife Rosalyn (Jennifer Lawrence) could be the one that brings the entire world crashing down.

The film is set to be released on 20 December 2013 in the USAand has already been generating critical acclaim during the upcoming awards season, being nominated for no less than 7 Golden Globes including, Best Motion Picture, Best Actor – Christian Bale, Best Actress – Amy Adams, Best Supporting Actress – Jennifer Lawrence, Best Supporting Actor – Bradley Cooper and two nominations for director David O’Russell with Best Screenplay and Best Director. The odds man at Sports Betting Dime is certain American Hustle will run away with the Best Motion Picture Award, as do we at Movie Review World. But, like everyone else, we will just have to wait until 12 January 2014 to see.

American Hustle hits UK Cinemas on 1 January 2014.
